I can & I will, Watch ME !!

Hello Independent Balanced Woman,

I know it’s been weeks since my last post, and I’m sorry for that. I’ve been dealing with some health issues. Hopefully, my doctors have it all under control now.  What has everyone been up too? And how was your Memorial Day? I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of summer. I have a lot to catch up on in my yards and house. So, with that being said I’m going to go back to my ” I can and I will” Mondays.

This weeks I can and I will for me is to get my office re-organized. There are stacks of mail, magazines and who knows what stacked on my desk and on other things. So that’s my number one for the week. Number 2 would have to be to re-do my meal plans for summer. I’m going to have my almost 14 year old son help me with this. He loves to cook and being a teenage boy that plays football he loves to eat, a lot! lol    I’m going to create a meal plan with him where he cooks at least twice a week during the summer months. As for number 3…. I need to sit down and plan my weekly blogs for June. I’m really behind of that since my health issues started. But NOW is the time for me to get refocused and stick to a schedule and plan as much as possible.

Well, there you have it, my 3 I can and I will watch me goals for this week. Please let me know how you’ve all been and what your goals are for this week in the comments below. I look forward to hearing from you.

Have a great week, and remember when things get tough or frustrating.. I can and I will watch me!!!

Happy Monday!!

Water !!!!

Good Morning,

For those of you who have read my I can & I will from the beginning of the week know that my next Birthday is in 6 months and I set a goal to finally lose weight. Now what that means is that I’m paying close attention to what and how much I’m eating along with a beginning walking plan. I’m also taking a few different supplements such as, a multi-vitamin, calcium, magnesium, and Vitamin D.  A few of my friends suggested fish oil or krill oil however, I’m highly allergic to fish and seafood so those are out for me.

So, now onto today’s topic…. WATER!!!

I have read so many different things lately on the subject of weight loss and drinking water. Which I understand the concept. If you drink water before meals you won’t eat as much and if you drink water through out the day you won’t be as hungry so it cuts down on the snacking. But what about some of these things that say drink half your weight in ounces of water or drink “infused” water for weight loss? Do they work? Has any one tried any of them?

There are so many different recipes on Pinterest and other internet sites for infused waters. Like this one green tea + mint + lime helps to burn fat and is good for digestion or what about this one cucumber + lemon + lime for appetite control. Then there is always these ones that are “guaranteed” to help you lose weight. Lemon + mint + cucumber, and mixed berries and basil  or raspberries + lemon. Yes, they all sound like a great way to flavor plain boring water, but do they really help in the battle with weight?

Has anyone out there tried any of these? I would love feed back on this. So please leave your comments below. I’m looking forward to hearing about your experiences with Infused Waters especially if you were drinking them for weight loss.

Have a Happy and Blessed Day,

Kristin

I can & I will ! WATCH ME!!

I can & I will !! Watch Me!!!

Happy Monday.

So, how was everyone’s week? Did you accomplish your goals last week? I did for the most part. I didn’t get a lot of yard work done due to lots of rain and cold. However, I was able to stick to my meal plan. I cooked and baked all week last week and I must say my family loved all of it! As for my me time…. I did get a little bit of time alone to reflect and refocus, which as a busy working Mom I definitely need from time to time. I think it helps me focus on what NEEDS to be done from what I would LIKE to get done. And posting my weekly goals on here have helped me a lot.

Now, for this weeks I can and I will watch me… First thing is to sit down for at least 1 hour a day and make solid plans for my Blog. I know I’ve only been posting a few times a week and I want to change that. And a way for me to change that is to start planning in advance so that’s my main focus this week.

Next is to start my walking/exercise plan. My Doctor thinks it would be a great way for me to build the strength back up in my knee since my surgery. Besides, My next Birthday is in 6 months and I want to drop some of my “Holiday/winter” weight. Why is it we all seem to eat everything that’s put in front of us during the holidays? Every where we go people offer us yummy homemade treats. I’m just a guilty of doing that when people visit our home for the Holiday’s. This year however, I think I might start offering healthy options.

My third goal for the week is going to depend on the weather, which so far it looks like it’s going to be okay. I don’t mind chilly, I just don’t like cold and rainy. Anyway, I need to finish up cleaning out my flower beds, get my jungle of a yard cut and my shed cleaned out. It’s grilling season and I want to get the grill out and get the table and chairs out so we can hopefully start having dinner outside and watching the beautiful sunsets.

Well, there you have it. My this weeks I can & I will watch me goals!! Please leave your comments below and let me know what you’ve accomplished so far and what you hope to accomplish this week! Remember all it takes is a little planning and you can and you will too!!

Have a GREAT week everyone.

I can & I will! WATCH ME !!

Happy Monday and Happy May Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great week last week and got a lot accomplished. I know I did. Writing everything down and seeing it daily helped me to finally get somethings done that I have been putting off. I found all kinds of things in my pantry I forgot I bought. Some things I bought for specific meals or deserts and did something else instead. I have a list of everything in my pantry now and I’ve already done my meal plan for this week. I can’t wait to eat! I also got my appointments scheduled and my goals for 2017 done. Yep, can’t wait for that dentist appointment . Lol

So, what do you want to accomplish this week??

For me it’s a pretty easy straight forward list….. number one is to make sure I follow my meal plan so I can start using up some of those items in my pantry before they expire. the second thing will be to get my yards and flowerbeds finished since its supposed to be a beautiful week with little rain. Now last but not least I want to schedule some ME time! Time where I sit, walk or even take a drive alone to clear my head and refocus on ME. I know that sounds a little selfish but everyone needs some alone time to reflect on, well everything. I love my kids, family and friends but every now and then I need me time which I don’t get very often.  Let’s face it ladies…. It’s hard focusing on just ourselves in todays fast paced world.

So, there you have it. My 3 I can and I will’s for this week! What a great way to start May! What are YOUR I can and I will’s for this week? Come on ladies let me know in the comments below. Remember you are a strong independent balanced woman, you got this!

Have a GREAT week ladies!!

Happy May !!

Anything Outdoors

Plants to plant to get rid of mosquitoes this Summer!!

With the warm weather and planting season upon us, and those pesky bugs already starting to make their appearance, I came across a list of 9 plants that help get rid of mosquitoes.

I have some of these planted around my home already. So, now I know the reason why I’m not being eaten alive by those annoying night time bugs when I’m in certain parts of my yard. I think I’m also going to put some marigolds, rosemary, basil and garlic in planters this year around my patio and see what happens!!

There is nothing more irritating than an itchy mosquito bite when all you’re doing is trying to enjoy a beautiful sunset and a glass of wine.

If any of you know of other ways to get rid of mosquitoes or any of the other summers nasty bugs please leave a comment below.  Enjoy, those sunsets!!!!

I can & I will !!  WATCH ME !!!!

I can and I will!!  What does that mean to you? To me it is a self challenge about  trying to get something done. Whether its something that I’ve been putting off for whatever the reason or something  that I’m afraid to do but coming out of my comfort zone to get done. Its making a list of 3-5 things that I want to accomplish this week. It’s finally getting some of those things that have been on my “to do” list done. This week I’m going to challenge myself to do 3 things that I have been putting off or just avoiding for a while.

This week I’m going to sit down and do my “Goals” list and design a plan on how to achieve them. Usually, I do them in January every year so I’m a little behind.  I’m also going to get my kitchen pantry organized. I’ve been putting it off for months because honestly, it’s a disaster!! And number 3 on my list this week is to schedule an hour or two to make appointments that should have been made a few weeks ago.

So there you go. My 3 I can and I will get done this week. What are some of the things you want or need to accomplish but have been putting off? Post them in the comments below.  I look forward to reading them. And remember to write them down on paper so you can look at them through out the week as a reminder. Put them where you are bound to see them. Good luck and have a great week.

Whole House Deep Cleaning

Good morning all. With Spring finally upon us it’s time to do some deep cleaning. Below is a deep cleaning check list for every thing you may not always think about.  I got this off of Pinterest from Bless’er House. I think it’s a fantastic way to clean and purge some of the things that are broke, old or we just no longer need and use. It’s also an easy list to follow or even add too. Happy Spring Cleaning. 🌷🌷🌷
